Money

Switzerland has its own currency called "Schweizer Franken", the written form is "CHF" or "SFr"

  • Bills: 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 1000 francs
  • Coins >= 1 franc: 1, 2, 5 francs
  • Coins < 1 franc: 5, 10, 20, 50 centimes

You can get money at ATMs (called "Bankomat" in swiss-german), for example at the following banks:

  • Postfinance
    • Bubenbergplatz
    • Inside the train station
    • Schauplatzgasse (behind Loeb)
  • BEKB
    • Bubenbergplatz
    • Inside the train station
    • Bundesplatz
  • UBS
    • Bärenplatz

You can pay with a credit card in most places, however you should ask first - some places only accept swiss bank cards like "Postcard".
